The training programs are tailored to your apprenticeship or studies and vary according to your occupation. In the seminars, you'll learn more about winkler's corporate philosophy and have the opportunity to meet all the trainees or students in your class year.

Placements abroad

Under the current operational conditions, we help our trainees and students gain new personal and international work experience, while polishing up their language skills at the same time.

Apprentices can take advantage of this opportunity in an internship abroad, students during their theoretical phase through a semester abroad. The stay abroad is organized by either the trade school in cooperation with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) or by the DHBW, which cooperates with many colleges and universities worldwide.

FAQs

When can I apply for the apprenticeship or dual studies program?

Our apprenticeships and integrated degree programs are advertised on our career website about one year prior to the start of training in August/September. So the sooner you apply, the better. Nevertheless, you can apply for a job as long as it is advertised.

When does the training start and how long does it last?

Training starts each year on August 1 or September 1, depending on the federal state. The time frame depends on the type of occupation and usually covers three years.

When do the dual study programs start and how long do they last?

At winkler, the dual studies program begins each year on September 1, so students can meet each other before the semester officially begins on October 1. The study program usually lasts six semesters, which means three years.

What happens on the first day?

On your first day, you'll first meet the other trainees and students as well as the colleagues from your location. You'll also get your first information about general procedures and company regulations as well as information about your trade school and first day of school or about your dual studies university.

Can I shorten the time I spend in training?

We recommend completing the apprenticeship in the usual time that is planned. Not only because we think training is a great time, but also because it gives our trainees enough time to develop both professionally and personally both at the trade school and in the company. However, if you would like to shorten your time at the trade school, this is possible if your academic performance is very good and you meet the requirements at the company. For our students, the regular length of study is six semesters, which cannot be shortened.

What qualifications should I bring along for an dual studies program?

To sign up for an dual studies program, you need to have a high school diploma with qualification for higher education (Allgemeine Hochschulreife/ Fachhochschulreife) and pass an aptitude test. You should also have a high level of self-motivation, commitment and focus on goals, communication skills, and a good ability to understand new concepts.

Which locations offer an dual studies program?

The dual studies program takes places in cooperation with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW). For the Business Administration programs in Commerce, Accounting & Controlling, and Digital Commerce Management, the theoretical phase is held at the Stuttgart campus and the practical phase at our headquarters in Stuttgart. For the degree in Business Administration – Forwarding, Transport and Logistics, the theoretical phase is at the Heidenheim campus and the practical phase at our location in Ulm.
